Mein Thema ist die Ästhetik.
Mein Medium ist das Plakat. Wenn man mich fragen würde, was ich bin, so würde ich antworten: ein Lehrer.
Ein Streiter für das Schöne und Gute.
Für Kommunikation und Erkenntnisgewinn.
Und – so pathetisch es klingen mag –
für eine bessere Welt mit den Mitteln der Kunst.

Der Fokus meiner Arbeit liegt einerseits
– wie oben angedeutet –
auf dem künstlerischen Medium Plakat
im Spannungsfeld zwischen universitärer Lehre
einerseits und der höchst komplexen Realität
von Kommunikation andererseits,
salopp formuliert: im Spannungsfeld zwischen
hehrem Anspruch und schnöder Wirklichkeit.

My subject is aesthetics.
My medium is the poster. If you were to ask me what I am,
my answer would be: I am a teacher.
I am an advocate for all that is beautiful and good,
a fighter for communication and for a gain in knowledge, and,
however solemn this may sound,
for a better world through art.

The focus of my work, as I said above,
is the poster as an artistic medium which is
caught up somewhere between
academic teachings on the one hand and,
on the other hand, the highly complex reality
of communication, or – to put it casually –
between noble ideals and prosaic reality.
